Luxury timepieces from the heart of the Saxon watch industry

Wempe Glashütte is a brand of the traditional Hamburg-based jeweler Wempe. Now in its fourth generation, the family-owned company with branches in Vienna, London, Paris, and New York was founded in 1878 by the then 21-year-old watchmaker and entrepreneur Gerhard Diedrich Wempe. Originally, the business focused on the sale and repair of watches. In the years that followed, the small watchmaker’s shop expanded its range of products and became one of the most prestigious addresses for jewelry and watches – initially in Hamburg, and later in many other cities in Germany and abroad.

The Pilot Watch

In the 1960s and 1970s, Wempe begins to include international watch brands in its range, including such renowned names as Omega, Patek Philippe and Rolex. This helps the company cement its reputation as a luxury jewelry retailer and expand its presence on the international market. Under the leadership of Hellmut Wempe, who took over the company in the 1980s, the successful jeweler continued its growth and established itself as one of the leading brands in the world of luxury jewelry as well as luxury watches. Today, Wempe – valued for its exquisite selection of jewelry and watches as well as its commitment to quality and craftsmanship – operates numerous boutiques and stores in a wide variety of countries worldwide.

Classic, sporty or extravagant – we realize our ideas of watchmaking art in three of our own wristwatch lines.

Since 2016, Wempe has been manufacturing its own innovative luxury wristwatches under the Wempe Glashütte brand at its traditional Saxon watchmaking location in Glashütte. The high-precision and certified mechanical chronometers, including of course models for pilots, are presented in a wide variety of designs – from classic with stainless steel cases and leather straps to sporty with additional complications to limited special editions.

The wristwatches for men and women all combine high watchmaking quality at an attractive price. Wempe’s timepieces stand for precision, quality and German watchmaking art. They are known for their classic design, technical sophistication and high-quality materials. Their handcrafted production in Glashütte is not least a sign of the company’s commitment to preserving the German watchmaking tradition.
