Special watches with convincing functions and high user-friendliness
Garmin is founded in 1989 by two engineers and entrepreneurs, Gary Burrell and Min H. Kao, under the brand name ProNav. Later, Gary and Min change the name of what is now a multinational technology company to a combination of their first names. It is the birth of the Garmin brand.
Garmin is a leader in navigation technology and is active in the aviation, marine, automotive, sports and outdoor sectors with a wide range of innovative products – including, of course, state-of-the-art pilot watches. From the beginning, the company has focused on products related to GPS and navigation, initially for the maritime market, and later for the automotive and aviation industries. In 2003 – Garmin had just arrived in the cockpits of jets and propeller planes with its navigation systems – the GPS expert finally ventured its first steps into the watch industry.
We strive to be a global leader in all the markets in which we operate.
Garmin
GPS on the wrist
Originally focused on running, the specialist for GPS navigation products and wearables is constantly developing its wristwatches and tapping into ever new target groups, especially with functional smartwatches. Today, there are special models for hikers, swimmers, golfers – and of course for aviators. Always in focus: convincing functions and high user-friendliness.
The timepieces from Garmin have a variety of sensors. Among other things, they measure the wearer’s activity, calorie consumption, heart rate, performance and much more. The integrated GPS including satellite navigation system is almost a matter of course. Garmin’s latest models also impress with additional features such as Bluetooth, Spotify and the integration of contactless payment options.
