Timepieces for every taste
Invicta – the Latin word for invincible – is an American watch manufacturer based in Hollywood, Florida. The watchmaker was founded in 1837 by watchmaker and entrepreneur Raphael Picard in the small Swiss town of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Picard offers its clientele high-quality Swiss timepieces at affordable prices. The small family-owned company quickly became known beyond the borders of the Alpine Republic. In addition to standard pocket watches, it also supplies custom-made watches, especially watches with chiming movement, calendar movement and moon phase display.
Until the 1970s, Invicta remained in the hands of Raphael Picard’s descendants. But due to the so-called quartz crisis, the economic situation of the watch manufacturer deteriorates visibly. Traditional chronometers with mechanical movements were gradually squeezed out of the market by timepieces with quartz hearts produced cheaply in the Far East. Finally, Invicta loses this battle and ceases its operations.
With a diverse range of timepiece collections, Invicta is fully equipped to suit the most particular and diverse of tastes.

The dead live longer
However, true to the motto “there’s life in the old dog yet”, this was not to be the final end of Invicta. In 1991, an American investment company acquired the rights to Invicta and breathed new life into the brand under the name Invicta Watch Group. With a wide range of watch collections, including a wide range of themed watches, Invicta is well-equipped to satisfy a wide variety of tastes.
Invicta is known to a wide audience in particular for its collaborations with big names in entertainment and sports, including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, NFL and NHL. The timepieces, some of which are genuine Swiss-made models, are usually powered by calibers from Seiko. By the way: since 2016, the pilot watch manufacturer Glycine has also been part of the Invicta Watch Group.
