Luxury timepieces made of high-tech materials in a distinctive design
Richard Mille is a Swiss luxury watch manufacture named after its French founder and based in Les Breuleux. Watch enthusiast Richard Mille, born in 1951, began his career in the watch industry back in 1974. Mille holds management positions at various watch brands before becoming managing director of the watch division of the renowned French jewelry company Mauboussin in the early 1990s. in 1999, Richard Mille leaves the company and founds his own watch label together with the Swiss manufacturer Audemars Piguet.
The brand’s collections deliberately break with traditional codes of modern luxury watches – often combined with a baroque style and precious materials such as gold and platinum. Richard Mille’s timepieces set new trends and unmistakable signs in the world of classic watchmaking: distinctive designs, high-tech materials from Formula 1 and aviation, handcrafted in collaboration with the best Swiss manufacturers of components and movements.
My goal was to create a new, extremely high-end luxury segment within the high-end watch industry, and I was very excited to see what would come of it.

High-end watches at high-end prices
Richard Mille’s timepieces – including, of course, exclusive models for pilots – are not everyday watches. Rather, they are the sports car, or even better, the private jet for the wrist. Not only because they are made of innovative, shock-resistant and particularly light materials from racing and aircraft construction, but also from a price point of view. Six- and seven-figure sums are quite normal price categories for a strictly limited Richard Milles chronometer. High-end watches made from high-end materials at high-end prices.
