Farer is a British watch brand founded near London in 2015 by four friends and watch enthusiasts Stuart Finlayson, Jono Holt, Ben Lewin and Paul Sweetenham in response to the lack of affordable vintage watches. Sweetenham had previously worked as a watch buyer for a duty-free company and then had an extensive retail career, while Finlayson, Holt and Lewin ran a London-based branding and marketing agency.

The four vintage enthusiasts’ first released product line still consists of quartz watches. Later, chronographs with automatic movements followed – inspired by the golden era of watchmaking, when bold colors and contrasting textures were combined with the best craftsmanship. Today, the design of each Farer watch – despite its historical DNA – tells its own unique story.

Farer designs its collections in London. The timepieces are manufactured by Roventa Henex in Switzerland, one of the leading developers and producers of luxury wristwatches. All models are characterized by watchmaking passion and the associated attention to detail. Stuart, Jono, Ben and Paul are convinced that especially in the digital age, mechanical watches inspired by the past are more important and contemporary than ever before.

The name of the exclusive watchmaker, Farer, is derived from British spirit of adventure and discovery: Seafarer, Wayfarer, Farfarer. Thus, the extremely robust timepieces, designed with durability in mind, are also literally built for adventure in nature and wilderness – whether on land, sea or air.

Trust is good, control is better. That’s why Farer keeps very close watch over design, production and distribution. The timepieces, which are manufactured in exclusive small series, are sold exclusively via the brand’s own website.
