Timeless design inspired by creativity and ingenuity

Fossil was founded in 1984 by Greek-American entrepreneur Tom Kartsotis in Richardson, Texas. The brand name is derived from a nickname Tom and his brother Kosta once gave their father. The main product of the young company is initially imported fashion watches with a retro look, followed later by the trade of higher quality models and finally the production of its own collections – sold from 1998 in the typical tin can inspired by the American graphics of the 1950s.

The affordable timepieces from the house of Fossil enjoy great popularity, the company grows steadily and already in 1993 the IPO takes place. Again and again, the company draws attention to itself with significant company acquisitions, such as the acquisitions of Zodiac Watches, Michele Watch and Emporio Armani. At the end of the 1990s, Fossil signs a worldwide license agreement for the production and distribution of watches for DIESEL and DKNY. Collaborations with big names like Michael Kors, Adidas and Marc Jacobs were to follow.

When timeless design meets the power of innovation, anything is possible.

The right watch for every occasion

Fossil operates its own design studios in Biel, Switzerland, production facilities in China, and distribution centers in the U.S., Germany and Asia. Today, the watches of the Texan company are not only available in a wide variety of designs, but also offer a multitude of innovative technical functions. One example: Fossil’s fashionable smartwatches are a true combination of classic and modern, timepieces with metal, fabric and leather straps, with an elegant touchscreen, functions such as heart rate measurement, GPS and Google Pay. In short, Fossil offers a wide range of wristwatches for every occasion and for every target group, whether for businessmen, adventurers, athletes or, of course, pilots.
