Trend-setting timepieces in modern military design
Today’s Canadian-based Marathon brand was founded in 1904 by members of the Wein family in the Swiss town of La Chaux-de-Fonds as Weinstrum Watch, later Wein Brothers. With the participation of several branches of the family, the watch manufacturer markets its precise timepieces both in Europe and soon across the Atlantic throughout Northern Europe. In 1939, the company is renamed Marathon Watch – a nod to both the quality and the associated longevity of the Canadian-Swiss timepieces.
Marathon watches combine military ruggedness with Swiss engineering and craftsmanship to ensure the highest levels of quality and precision.
Marathon
Precision watches in the fourth generation
Today, the family-owned company, now in its fourth generation, designs and manufactures high-precision timepieces with automatic, mechanical and quartz movements, military wristwatches, stopwatches, scientific instruments and a wide range of other devices for measuring time, temperature and distance. The products – including, of course, high-quality pilot watches – are supplied, in particular, to units of the Canadian military and its allied forces. However, the watchmaker’s customers also include major retail groups around the globe. Marathon’s production facilities are located in Vaughan, Canada, and La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. All watches are manufactured with the utmost care and undergo a wide range of quality controls before delivery.
