Swiss luxury watches with Russian history

H. Moser & Cie. is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer based in the canton of Schaffhausen. The brand’s history dates back to 1828, when Heinrich Moser, son of a Swiss watchmaking family, founded the company in St. Petersburg. Moser’s high-quality timepieces quite quickly became very popular, especially among the more well-heeled clientele. Among his customers were Russian princes and members of the Russian imperial court.

The timepieces were manufactured in Moser’s Swiss factory, which he had built soon after founding the company. The product spectrum ranges from simple three-hand watches to elaborate special designs with a wide variety of complications, i.e. timepieces whose additional functions go beyond the usual display of hours, minutes and seconds. After Moser’s death in 1874, the watchmaking company was sold, but later – after turbulent decades and revival of the brand in 2005 – returned to Swiss family ownership.

Today, the exclusive luxury watch manufacturer is still one of the few independent family-owned companies in the watch industry. H. Moser & Cie. guarantees its customers handcrafted masterpieces, uncompromising in quality, manufactured according to the values of the founding father – from the elaborate forming and hardening of each individual hairspring to the production of the in-house mechanical movements and the final inspection following the artisanal assembly. Every timepiece – and thus also every pilot’s watch from the house of H. Moser & Cie – is a unique testimony to the art of Swiss watchmaking.

The luxury watch manufacturer always uses the highest quality and most sustainable raw materials. Furthermore, it works exclusively with partners who share its values – especially with regard to the responsible use of raw materials derived from natural resources. H. Moser & Cie. is therefore also a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, or RJC for short. This non-profit organization was set up by companies in the gold and diamond end industries to promote ethical, socially and environmentally responsible corporate policies that comply with human rights along the entire supply chain.
